Karen Sturrock, who has been with the firm for more than six years, has completed her studies in order to qualify as a Member of the Institute of Legal Executives. Part 1 consisted of two years studying all areas of law required for a general legal background, including Wills & Probate, whilst working in a solicitor’s practice. Part 2 involved a further two years studying her subjects of choice: Litigation, Contract Law, Employment Law and Public Law.
Since 2002 she has been assisting in a wide range of Civil Proceedings and has gained much knowledge and experience in Litigation. She also co-ordinates our Wills, Trusts and Probate department.
Legal Executives are qualified lawyers who specialise in a particular area of law. They will have passed the ILEX Professional Qualification in Law in an area of legal practice to the same level as that required of solicitors. In order to qualify as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives they will have at least five years experience of working under the supervision of a solicitor in legal practice.
