Julian Goulding

JulianJulian Goulding is a partner of Cheyney Goulding LLP, which he founded in 1995 following over 20 years in practice with law firms in London and the South East. He was an external lecturer at the University of Surrey for a number of years.

As an experienced business advisory specialist, Julian provides legal advice to companies on a range of areas including mergers and acquisitions; business sales, management buy-outs and buy-ins; joint ventures; start-ups, formation and corporate constitution; capital injections, refinancing and restructuring; and shareholder relations.

Julian is married with two children and his interests include skiing, tennis, reading and theatre.


Graham Young

GrahamGraham has been a Partner at Cheyney Goulding LLP since 1995.  He trained in the City and was admitted to The Solicitors Roll in 1985.  After qualifying Graham continued to work in the City before joining Cheyney Goulding LLP.

Graham’s area of expertise is in Commercial Dispute Resolution.  He handles disputes in the High Court, County Court and Employment Tribunals.  In addition, he deals with Mediations, Arbitrations and references to the European Courts.

 


Tom Marshall

Tom MarshallTom joined Cheyney Goulding LLP in 2004, and became a partner in 2010.

He specialises in corporate and commercial matters with an emphasis on:

     buying and selling private companies and businesses;

     company restructuring;

     agreements for shareholders and investors;

     commercial agreements; and

     commercial property.

Tom studied chemistry at the University of Nottingham and enjoys running and playing squash.


Rebecca Gowing

Rebecca Gowing photoRebecca studied English and Russian at the University of Manchester before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the Guildford College of Law.  She joined Cheyney Goulding in September 2008 and completed her training with the firm, qualifying as a Solicitor in April 2011.

Rebecca specialises in civil and commercial litigation, property litigation and commercial and residential property.  Rebecca also has experience acting for clients in a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including buying and selling private companies and negotiating and advising on commercial contracts.

Outside the office Rebecca enjoys keeping fit and attends the gym regularly.  She also enjoys travelling, cooking, reading and spending time with friends and family.
 


Emma Brown

Emma BrownEmma studied Law with International Legal Studies at the University of Southampton, with a year spent studying at the National University of Singapore, before completing the Legal Practice Course at the Guildford College of Law. Emma joined Cheyney Goulding in June 2011, as a Trainee Solicitor.

Before starting at Cheyney Goulding, Emma worked as a Law Costs Draftsman, where she gained experience acting for a range of clients, negotiating legal costs and dealing with litigation matters.

Away from the office, Emma enjoys attending the gym regularly and travelling.


Deborah Morey

Deborah joined Cheyney Goulding LLP in 2010.  She qualified as an Associate of The Institute of Legal Executives in 1982 and has experience in many areas of the law.

Deborah now specialises in civil and commercial Dispute Resolution.

Deborah lives in Guildford and has two sons.  Her interests include going to the theatre and cinema, reading, classical music and spending time with her family.
 


Sam Major

Sam joined Cheyney Goulding LLP in the summer of 2011 having completed the Legal Practice Course and Graduate Diploma in Law at The College of Law, Guildford and studied Marine Geography at Cardiff University.

Sam is currently working as a paralegal with his interest in law revolving around dispute resolution and litigation matters to commercial property among others.

Sam enjoys a number of sporting interests including hockey, squash, tennis and equestrianism as well as reading and travelling.
 


Stuart Bailey

Admitted as a solicitor in 1975 Stuart has gained extensive experience in private client work for a wide variety of firms in London and the Home Counties. During the 1980s Stuart worked in the probate department of Farrer and Co of Lincoln’s Inn Fields.

He was also sales and marketing manager for 12 years in a direct mail company owned by his family, returning to the law in 2003.

Stuart’s expertise is in the drafting of wills and trusts and the administration of estates, with advice on related tax matters including inheritance tax and tax planning as well as enduring and lasting powers of attorney.

He is married with one grown up son and likes socialising with friends and family, reading, pub quizzes and walking in the Surrey /Hampshire countryside as often as possible.
